Executive Chef Elizabeth Binder, originally from South Africa, was inspired by her fisherman father and her grandmothers. She studied at the Christina Martin School of Food and Wine in Durban and began her career at Blue Mountain Lodge, where she quickly rose to head chef at just 19, cooking state dinners for F.W. de Klerk and Nelson Mandela. Elizabeth’s culinary journey took her around the world, working in the UK, French Alps, Sydney, and San Francisco, where she honed her skills in renowned kitchens. In 2006, she co-founded Bar Bambino, a highly awarded Italian-inspired restaurant in San Francisco. Currently, she is the Chef/Owner of Hand-Crafted Catering in Napa Valley. Elizabeth has also appeared on Top Chef: Seattle and won on Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network.
